The Paul Welsh column: Star Wars and the long hot summer of 1976
Hello once again and I hope you are enjoying the best summer apparently since 1976, which I also remember well. Back then I seem to recall we even had a Minister for Drought! To be honest I am fading a bit along with my garden but after our long winter I just say carpe diem. You see how well educated we were half a century or more ago at a secondary modern school in Borehamwood.

Air quality a top priority as Camden unveils vision for 2025
Finding new ways to improve air quality in Camden is a key shared aim of Camden’s residents, businesses, organisations and the council as they unveiled the borough’s new vision for Camden in 2025 on Monday, 9 July 2018.

The event, co-chaired by University College London, was a step towards the creation of a new Camden Clean Air Action Plan, due for approval in early 2019, and a practical example of the way people and organisations across the borough are c

John Rocque Map of Hampstead (1762).
John Rocque (c. 1709–1762) was a surveyor, cartographer, engraver, map-seller and the son of Huguenot émigrés. Roque is now mainly remembered for his maps of London. This map dates from the second edition produced in 1762. London and his other maps brought him an appointment as cartographer to the Prince of Wales in 1751. His widow continued the business after his death. The map of Hampstead covers an area stretching from the edge in the northwest of present-day Dollis Hill to Islington in the southeast.
