Issue with Browsealoud software
Camden Council is one of thousands of organisations globally who use an accessibility tool called Browsealoud to enable blind and partially sighted people to access online information.

Browsealoud was taken offline on Sunday, as the company who produce the software learnt that it was being used to attempt to generate cryptocurrency.

This was an issue within the Browsealoud software, which is accessible via our site, rather than a hack on our council website itself. No customer data has been accessed or lost and Camden’s website continues to be secure. As soon as the software was taken down nationally it was no longer available via our website, but we still took steps to remove the links to the software from our site.

The company are keeping the software offline at present, and are carrying out

Let’s get physical: Complete our survey for chance to win an iPad
Over a third of people living in Camden aren’t reaching the recommended 150 minutes of physical activity per week.

To help reverse this trend, we want to get your thoughts on Camden’s places and spaces for physical activity, opportunities for active travel (walking and cycling), our leisure centres, as well as sport and physical activity projects.

Complete this survey on physical activity for the chance to win an iPad 32GB.

You have until 16 March to complete the survey. You can also pick up a paper copy of the survey at Camden libraries and leisure centres. The winner will chosen at random.

Following this research, we will develop a new strategy to support physical activity across Camden.

Being physically active is one of the best things you

Most empty homes are in the north, so let’s end this London focus | Helen Williams
Luxury investment is just the tip of a much larger housing problem. Tackling sub-standard empty homes is also vitalWe are used to seeing stories about empty homes in London, particularly empty homes bought by wealthy investors who leave them unoccupied. But these sorts of empty properties are not the biggest issue. Research (pdf) by the Empty Homes campaigning charity, where I am director, shows that London actually has the lowest proportion of long-term empty homes in England with 0.56% of homes in the capital officially described as empty. That’s not to say there isn’t a problem with empty homes in the capital, but we need to be careful not to allow a London lens to distort the bigger picture. Regent's Park

Regent's Park - not the park itself but the tube station.

Regent's Park tube station is a London Underground station near to Regent's Park, located on Marylebone Road between the two arms of Park Crescent.

The station was opened on 10 March 1906 by the Baker Street & Waterloo Railway (BS&WR); In the original parliamentary authority for the construction of the BS&WR no station was allowed at Regent's Park. Permission was granted to add it to the already partially constructed line in 1904.

Because of this same rule and unlike most of the BS&WR's other stations, Regent's Park has no surface buildings and is accessed from a subway.

The station is served by lifts - there is also a staircase which can be used and which has 96 steps.

Great Portland Street station is within easy walking distance for interchanges to the Circle and Metropolitan lines.
