Clanricarde Gardens is a street of very tall, narrow houses built between 1869 and 1873 by a pair of West London builders, Thomas Good and William White.

Clanricarde Gardens was a speculative development of 51 houses, along with a row of six houses with shops beneath. It was located just around the corner from Notting Hill Gate.

Amongst the early occupants were the Beerbohm family and their son, Max, the future writer and artist.

A few decades after being built, the houses were nearly all subdivided into flats.

There is a story that John Lennon smoked his first joint in this street.
