Egerton Gardens, W13
West Ealing
Egerton Gardens runs between The Avenue and Montague Road.

There are two possible explanations for the name Egerton Gardens.

Either it was named for the 1st Earl of Ellesmere in Shropshire – Francis Egerton (1800-1857) or the Bishop of Durham a Dr John Egerton (1721-1787) who owned Elm Grove a house near Ealing Common.

This latter house was owned by Spencer Perceval (1762 to 1812) who is the only British Prime minister to be assassinated.
