Shire Hall
Shire Hall
In the lane leading to Renter’s Farm, Shire Hall was mentioned in 1712, rebuilt in the Renaissance manner c. 1850, and demolished c.1920.

Thomas Spalding of Shire Hall, founder of the Congregational church, gave magic-lantern lectures in the 1850s.

By 1928, houses were being built in Shirehall Lane and neighbouring roads near the River Brent by the Haymills company, who were responsible for several estates in the area.
