William Plender, 1st Baron Plender was an accountant and public servant who served as Sheriff of the County of London in 1927.
Plender Street, as King Street - its original name until 1937 - dates from the 1840s and 1850s. It was built over the Upper and Lower Brickfield, owned by a Mr Jeffreys.
