Raleigh Drive is named after Sir Walter Raleigh.
It is thought that Sir Walter Raleigh once lived in Friern House causing this 1934 road to be named. It was suggested during the planning stage in 1930 by Mr T G Payne, owner of Church Farm Estate and approved by Friern Barnet UDC Minutes.
