Beltran Road dates from 1897.

Many London streets can be dated from drainage applications, Beltran Road being one of them.

When a late Victorian-era local authority granted permission to build, construction work had to begin within six months and finish before a specified date. If a builder did not start before the deadline, a reapplication had to be made. Drainage was generally completed first, before any houses went up.

William Gilbert Allen began building the Morrison’s Farm Estate in 1896 just before Henry Norris and he formed a partnership. Beltran Road was completed about a year after this.
