Launceston Place, SW7
Kensington
Launceston Place was the last street to be developed on the Inderwick estate.

The small Inderwick Estate was developed quickly - work started in 1837 and was complete by 1846.

The Inderwick Estate was purchased for development by John Inderwick in 1836 from Samuel Hutchins. John Inderwick was an importer of pipes and snuff boxes who lived in Wardour Street. Hutchins had purchased the land from the manor of Kensington.

Until 1883, Launceston Place was called Sussex Place.
