The Boulevard - a road - serves a number of blocks within the Imperial Wharf development.
Imperial Wharf is a mixed-use waterfront development on a former British Gas site in Chelsea Harbour.
In 1824 the Imperial Gas Light and Coke Company began producing gas here in 1829 - barges brought coal to the site. Later in the nineteenth century, the company laid out Imperial Road and Imperial Square.
With the advent of North Sea gas in the 1970s, the gasworks was no longer needed. Soon 2000, St George - property developers - began to build an extensive estate of luxury apartment blocks. The scheme also included provisions for affordable housing.
