Cordova Road was laid out in 1866.
The east end of the street was damaged by two V1s that hit Grove Road. The first of these hitting Grove Road was the first flying bomb (Doodlebug) to strike London - on 13 June 1944.
Cordova Road was redeveloped as part of Mile End Park.
