Field Place, SW11

Field Place - also Play Place (after 1937) - was a small road in Battersea.

Field Place originated c.1840-45. It may have been named for agriculture. Until 1871, Garden Cottages were also to be found here.

The Underground Map project is creating street histories for the areas of London and surrounding counties lying within the M25.
