Lanrick Road is named after an estate in Doune, Perthshire.
The top section was at first called Parian Street. Lanrick Road is mentioned in 1936. Both sections appear on the 1913-surveyed Ordnance Survey map.
It was the site of Commercial Wharf - owned by W.W. Howard Brothers & Company, timber merchants in the early 20th century.
The Blackwall Trading Estate is now situated in the street.
