Althorpe Grove was a short cul-de-sac, west of Sunbury Lane.
Althorpe Grove, dating from 1856, was named for the Northamptonshire estate of the Earls Spencer, who were lords of the manor of Wandsworth & Battersea from the 1760s.
The east side was very badly damaged during the war. Two prefabs were erected but it was redeveloped in 1976 as part of the Althorpe Grove Estate.
