Aegis House was a short-lived tower block on the Savona Estate.
The Savona Estate’s Aegis Grove extension was built in the early 1960s. This extension, representing one of the London County Council’s early ventures into system building, gained attention for its innovative approach to construction - the Reema construction method. This technique involved the use of pre-cast concrete slabs, which were manufactured off-site and then assembled on the construction site. The adoption of pre-cast components sped up the construction process for high-rise buildings.
Aegis House was an eleven-storey block. It was demolished in 1986.
