The Bishops Avenue's name derives from the bishops of London, who owned a large hunting park in the area in the late Middle Ages.

The Bishops Avenue, connects the north side of Hampstead Heath at Kenwood (Hampstead Lane) to East Finchley. It is considered to be one of the wealthiest streets in the world. The road is often referred to by its nickname of 'Billionaires' Row'.
