Prototype Hendon bomber flying over the Great West Aerodrome (1935)

The expansion of this aerodrome led to the creation of Heathrow Airport.

In the photo we can see Heathrow Road straggling from top to right, Cain's Lane is the straight road in the foreground and High Tree Lane the other visible road.
