On the right is Lambeth Marsh, possibly somewhat idealised, with Lambeth Palace in the foreground. Much of Lambeth continued to be marsh until the beginning of the 19th century.

On the left is Westminster and Westminster Bridge across the Thames. In the distance is St Paul's Cathedral.
