The yard of Wood Green fire station in Bounds Green Road (1938)

A side note that everybody was preparing for war in 1938. If the date of the photo is correct, people were preparing rather early.

There do not appear to be any blackout deflectors on the headlamps so presumably before 1939 - certainly before 1941 when Wood Green would have been subsumed into the National Fire Service.

After the war, Wood Green became part of the Middlesex Fire Service and then part of the London Fire Brigade under the Greater London Council in 1965 when the borough became part of the London Borough of Haringey.

In the background can be seen the railway buildings on the Kings Cross main line to the north, an area of later interest to Nazi bombers during the Blitz.
