Priory Road, NW6
South Hampstead
Priory Road crosses Abbey Road to the former site of Kilburn Priory.

Building had restarted on the Kilburn Priory estate in 1843. Fulk Greville Howard, its owner, made an agreement with William Cullum, a china manufacturer and developer. In 1845 Howard made a new agreement with James Carter, a Maida Vale builder. In 1851 Carter was superseded by George Duncan, a substantial developer from Grove End Road. In Priory Road, Duncan built pairs of villas.

In the 1870s, Colonel Henry Cotton laid out Canfield Road (later part of Priory Road) on the boundary between the Kilburn Priory, Eyre and Powell-Cotton estates.
