Battle Bridge Place, N1C
King’s Cross
Battle Bridge Place is the traditional name for a newer area of King’s Cross.

Nearby King’s Cross is traditionally (but not historically) the site of an important battle between British and Roman armies (see Boadicea Street). The bridge was that crossing the River Fleet, north of St Chad’s Place. The whole area between the present Gray’s Inn, Pentonville and King’s Cross Roads, north of Swinton Street, was called Battlebridge until the 1830s when the name King’s Cross was adopted.
