Queen Street, EC4R
When the Metropolitan Police was formed in 1829, the City of London refused to join in and set up its own police force in 1839.

The City of London had its own ambulance service which became operated by the police rather than the City. The service was phased out in 1949 with the introduction of the NHS. The ambulance in the picture is one of two electric ambulances in use between 1907 and 1927.
