Richmond Park

Richmond Park is a national-level nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation. Its landscapes have inspired many famous artists and it has been a location for several films and TV series.

Historically the preserve of the monarch, the park is now open to all. Full right of public access to the park was confirmed by Act of Parliament in 1872.

It played an important role in both world wars and also in the 1948 and 2012 Olympics.
