Cool Oak Lane connects West Hendon with Kingsbury.

By the 1820s the Regent’s Canal was not holding sufficient water at its top in Camden Town.

To resolve this issue a reservoir was built in West Hendon by damming the river Brent near its confluence with the Silk Stream. This flooded a large area of low lying farmland to create the Welsh Harp reservoir. Later a bridge was built along Cool Oak Lane.
