Gibraltar Gardens was a small Bethnal Green road.
It ran off Bethnal Green Road just to the west of a post office. While it was a cul-de-sac, a path from the top ran beside the Gibraltar Tavern to connect with Gibraltar Walk.
Shown on mapping from the 1830s onwards, by the turn of the twentieth century, it contained a tenement block called Gibraltar Buildings.
Gibraltar Gardens was swept away in the early 1960s.
An aim of the Underground Map project is to find the location every street in London, whether past or present, and tell its story. |
