Kingsleigh Walk was built on the site of an old house.
Percy Lovely was the final owner of a large house called King’s Leigh - he had connections to Leigh-on-Sea in Essex. In the mid-1950s, he was elected as an Alderman for the City of London, but his appointment was not ratified by the Corporation for undisclosed reasons.
Following his death, a memorial service was held for Lovely at St Paul’s Cathedral. Soon after, the house was demolished and replaced by Kingsleigh Walk.
