Ruislip Street was the first completed road of the LCC Totterdown Fields cottage estate.
Totterdown Fields in Tooting was the first London County Council cottage estate and built between 1901 and 1911 It contained 1244 individual houses built over 38 acres. The estate was designated a conservation area, on the 19 September 1978.
