Maple Cross shops (c.1950)

Denham Way was constructed in the 1920s as a bypass for the narrow Uxbridge Road through West Hyde.

The Cross public house was a Salter's pub by 1839 and had a smithy next door.

Shops now occupy the site of the former cottages, called The Yews, but the trees still stand.
