Burnt Oak (1932)

Less than a decade after the arrival of the Northern Line in the area, this map shows two now-defunct airfields.

The larger London Aerodrome (Hendon Aerodrome) was largely a project of air pioneer Claude Grahame-White from 1908 onwards. It later became RAF Hendon before closing in the 1950s. The area became Grahame Park.

Stag Lane Aerodrome was a private aerodrome between 1915 and 1933, later sold for housing development.
