Fred Davis & Sons, Cornwall Road, now Westbourne Park Road, W11 (1920s)
Fred Davis started his business as a furniture remover in 1894, with just one horse-drawn vehicle. He had seven sons and seven daughters and the sons all joined their father in the business. The business had a depot on Portobello Road just before Lancaster Road and carried on for more than 80 years.
Precisely dating this photo may be a challenge. Certainly, the W11 postal area only came into being in 1917.
