My great great grandmother, and her soon to be husband, lived in Parker’s Row before their marriage in St James in June 1839. Thier names were - Jane Elizabeth Turner and Charles Frederick Dean. She was a hat trimmer and he was a tailor.

Lockside not on 1939 Register
I have the Denby family living in Lockside in 1938 but it does not appear on the 1939 Register.

he was a School Teacher
Henry sailed from Graves End 1849 on ’The Woodbridge’ arrived South Australia 1850. In 1858 he married Julia Ann Walsh at Burra, South Australia, they had 3 children, and 36 grand children. Died 24 June 1896 at Wilmington, South Australia. He is my 1st cousin 3x removed.

Blossom Place
My Great Great Grandmother, Harriett Robbins lived in 2 Blossom Place in 1865 before marrying my Great Great Grandfather. They moved to 23 Spitall Square.

Skidmore Street was located where present day Ernest Street and Solebay Street now stand. They are both located above Shandy Street and Commodore Street.

Shopping in Green Lanes, Harringay (1960s) These early crossings were very distinctive - there was an animated “matchstick man” when you could cross who came to a standstill when you shouldn’t

Harringay Festival on Green Lanes (2009) Whilst it is undeniably an ancient thoroughfare, the age and origin of Green Lanes is somewhat uncertain. It possibly originated as a drovers’ road along which cattle were walked from Hertfordshire to London. But its origins may date back as far as the Roman period.

St Ann’s Road railway station was opened by the Tottenham & Hampstead Junction Railway on 2 October 1882. It was at the corner of St Ann’s Road and Seven Sisters Road in N15. It comprised two wooden platforms, accessed by a footbridge and stairs, and a brick building. The service at the station was generally between St Pancras or Kentish Town and Barking or Southend. It was never well used, mainly as it was near South Tottenham and Seven Sisters stations, the latter gave a much faster link to The City. The station was closed on 9 August 1942 as a wartime austerity measure and never reopened. The station building survived as a newsagents until October 2012, when the building was demolished.
