Ceremony marking the opening of houses in the newly built streets of Tooting in 1903. The road they are all in is Lessingham Avenue and was a visit by the King and Queen Totterdown Fields in Tooting was the first London County Council cottage estate and built between 1901 and 1911 It contained 1244 individual houses built over 38 acres. The estate was designated a conservation area, on the 19 September 1978.
