The Crystal Palace in Sydenham, before the 1936 fire, was a glorious construction of wood and glass.

Crystal Palace from Anerley Hill (1906) Not only did the palace burn down in 1936 but a V1 largely demolished the buildings on the right in 1944. The remains of the water tower can still be seen today

Fox Hill, Upper Norwood by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) Camille Pissarro was born in St Thomas (then a Danish possession) in the West Indies but lived and worked mainly in the Paris area. He was an Impressionist and mainly painted landscapes. He visited London in 1870-71 and painted London views.
