Junction 30 (J30) of the M25 motorway is the junction to the north of the Dartford River Crossing.
This section of the M25 often experiences congestion throughout most of the day. It directly serves the Port of Tilbury and the Lakeside regional shopping centre and is regarded as a strategic link that is key to the development of the Thames Gateway area.
Preparation work to increase capacity at Junction 30 (Thurrock) as part of the Thames Gateway Delivery Plan began with plans in 2007.
J30 is combined with Junction 31 which has access to Thurrock Services. By 2014, there were a total of four service areas directly accessible from the London Orbital motorway, the others are Clacket Lane, Cobham services and South Mimms. Parts of the Thurrock service station overlook a lake.
