Priors Farm was marked as Pryor Farm on Greenwood’s map of 1819 and as Priors Field on Rocque’s map dating from the mid eighteenth century.
Priors Farm was originally about 160 acre. In 1841 it was occupied by Joseph Watson. He appears in the 1851 census at Gatehill Farm and was buried in Northwood churchyard.
It is a rare survivor of a farm within the contiguous urban area of London. Its fields have recently been used as part of the works for the HS2 project.
