Allison Grove is named after Allison Allen Marshall.
After the copyholder of the underlying estate Allison Allen Marshall died in 1859, her heir, T. W. Parker, named the development Allison Grove in 1868.
The Allison Grove house of the Joyce family - a member of which was William Joyce (’Lord Haw-Haw’) - was ironically the first in Dulwich to be bombed during the 1940 Blitz.
