Oppidans Mews was the very road to be laid out in the original development of the area.
The mews was built upon the Eton College Estate - an ’oppidan’ at Eton College is a pupil who boards in town rather than in the school itself.

Oopidans Mews fell victim to a large post-war redevelopment scheme. The Whitton Estate was built in Oppidans Road by Thomas McInerney & Sons in 1970. A year later, the flats of Meadowbank replaced Oppidans Mews.
