4 Theobald Street is the address of the Wellington public house.
The Wellington retains many of its original features typical of public houses of the period. It is a red brick, two storey building with a gabled tile roof and four decorated chimney stacks facing onto the street.
It was built on the site of the Jolly Steamer, which had been built in the 19th century after the construction of the railway in 1868. First mentioned in 1870 as a public house, it was re-built and renamed the Wellington in 1908.
