Roydon Street is a disappeared street of Battersea.
Roydon Street was called St George’s Street until 1911.
Roydon was the name given to part of Battersea in the medieval period, lying in the vicinity of St John’s Hill / Plough Road. The Roydons were also a noted local family in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Roydon Street north of the railway was redeveloped in 1958 as part of the Doddington Estate. The southern section became part of Southolm Street.
This website does not sell maps. Instead it offers a subscription service via Substack. Paid Substack subscribers can get old maps/satellite views in printable A2 PDF format. Though we will not be printing or framing ourselves, you'll be able to take your map to your local print shop/picture framer and let them produce the magic. |
