Ramsden Road was formed as part of the Southgate Park estate.


This 24 acres estate was fields in 1889, but had been divided into 314 plots around Stanford Road, Ramsden Road and Hartland Road before the London Land Co. went bankrupt. It is probable the road was laid out in 1896.
