The Royal Academy of Arts is an art institution based in Burlington House on Piccadilly.
Originally founded in 1768, it is an independent, privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects with a purpose to promote the creation and appreciation of visual arts through exhibitions, education and debate.
It moved to Burlington House on its 100th anniversary in 1868.
